On 14 – 18 June 2007 Człuchów was visited by 100-people delegation from Uslar (Człuchów’s twinning town in Germany). They were the representatives of Townhall, associations, organizations and youth – school orchestra, rock bands, dancers and singers.
Ceremonial opening of “Człuchów-Uslar – Friendship Days” was in the castle. At the opening were present invited guests and local authorities, aldermen, representatives of organizations and associations from Człuchów. The wishes were to further develop cooperation in all aspects of social life.
For adult representatives of Uslar and Człuchów two thematic commissions were prepared: education, culture, sport, ecology and social commission and infrastructure, economy and budget commission. During discussion new contacts were established among entrepreneurs, that will benefit in the future.
During Friendship Days a ceremonial opening of two exhibitions took place in Regional Museum: exhibition of paintings and sculptures by artists from Uslar and Człuchów and thematic exhibition “Kłusownicy-Poachers”.
The youth from Uslar had the pleasure to take part in the school classes with Polish students and to sightseeing our town.
In fully filled schedule of the visit there was also time for some entertainment. After a parade on Człuchów’s streets, in which lots of people took part, children from Człuchów wished the authorities of Człuchów and Uslar all the best. German band Elanel and Mike the King invited all spectators to have some fun.
Discos for youth, concerts of Człuchów’s and German bands and other performances led to great integration of all people according to the concert title “Nothing separates us but we have a lot of in common”.
The guests left Człuchów pleased and hope to come back in near future.
